The Royal Pages Present...

This Term, the Royal Pages Reading group were given the challenge of creating a movie for the 'Our Nation's Children' movie competition for 2014.  The theme of the movie had to be "Why is the Treaty of Waitangi still relevant today?"

Although we are not allowed to publish the movie until after the judging, we created a slide show to show some of the process, including our script writing and storyboarding.

Due to time constraints, we didn't end up filming like we wanted to, but Miss Kyla tried her best to edit what we had with a mixture of other media.  We all took turns to record our voice overs and ensure our key messages were included in the final product.

Wish us luck!  And check back here on the 6th of May for updates - if we win, we'll let you know!  If we don't win, we'll share our movie with you!

Hey Ms Kyla,

I had a great time with the group making the movie, though it didn't go quite according to plan, but great result! I hope we win!

Hi Mrs Kyla I loved helping you and the others make the movie, even though I didn't speak as clearly as you wanted me to. Our movie was a very great movie and I hope that we won the movie competition.

Hey Ms Kyla,

I watched the movie and I thought it was brilliant and I really love how you added the music and the pictures. Sorry you couldn't actually hear what I was saying.

Kia ora Royal Pages!
We like the way you all participated as a group to make this presentation. We have learnt about the 3P's of the Treaty of Waitangi, which are participation, protection and partnership. Next time perhaps you could use more realistic pictures in your storyboard. We would like to know when will you be sharing the movie with everyone?

Hi Royal Pages,

We like the way you have showed us how you made your movie step by step. We learnt from this blog post that the Treaty Of Waitangi was signed 174 years ago. Next time you could make the slides have animation to make it more cool.
