Kiwisport: Basketball!

This term at for Kiwisport we have had lessons on Basketball!
Once a week the coaches come in and teach us different Basketball skills and activities.
Here are some of the students reflections:

"We learned about BEEF.

Different SKILLS.

Through the following week, basketball sessions had been going on.We learned many things such as the stand of BEEF and different SKILLS. The stands of BEEF is Balance, Eyes, Elbow and Flick or follow through. It has been great working with Malek and Marko, learning different SKILLS and also teaching others.Basketball is what Room 8 loves going to. In todays session, we have learned to do drills and jumpstops.

"Today we we were put into to three teams my team and another team started well the other team sat beside the court. We never won a game but we worked as a team I got a goal but we still lost. In my group were my friend and another boy and the sport that we were playing was basketball,I like playing basketball because you can play one on one or two on two.  "

Kiwisport Badminton

Today Room 8 had Badminton with the Kiwisport team!

It was a great session with Kevin where we learnt different ways of holding and gripping the racket. We learnt the forehand grip, the frying pan grip and a few others!

Rippa Rugby Tournament

On Thursday the 31st of March, 20 students from Room 8 competed in a year 5/6 Rippa Rugby Tournament.

On Thursday the 31st of March, 20 students from Room 8 competed in a year 5/6 Rippa Rugby Tournament!
Here are some of their recounts:

On Thursday the 31 2016, the year  5/6 went to rippa rugby in dunkirk park.  We played seven different schools, my school had 3 different teams: Tamaki A,Tamaki B and Tamaki C.

 I was in Tamaki B. In my team was Mahara, Kanye, Ranet, Aumau, Arizona, Agnise and Destiny. The other teams we played against were Howick, Point england, Silvia park, Bucklin beach, St Helier's girls, Stan hope and Pamure District. My team Tamaki B, won three games, lost three games and tied one. At the end of prize giving each school got four rugby balls since we had three teams we got twelve rugby balls.
